Question 2005 dura max blown head gasket

I have a 05 duramax 55,000 miles that was pusing pressure into the coolant fill bottle and kept showing "add coolant" message. Took it to the dealer they saod it had a blown head gasket and may need heads and will know when they tear it down. Since the warranty ran out in july of 2010 they won't warranty even though the miles are way under the 100,000 warranty. In reasearching this seems to be a design flaw in the engine. No way should it have a blown head gasket at 55k miles. I think Chevy should pay for the repair not me. Can anyone tell me if there is any recourse with chevy on an issue like this
Thanks

its a known problem, but I highly doubt that GM will pay for it, its not nearly as common as the LB7 injector problem

Mine went with just under 100k miles, its the Gaskets 99% of the time, and usually if one gasket is bad, both are, both of mine were shot the front two cyls on the driver side, and back two on the pass side

My heads were fine, no cracking or damage, the new gaskets that you can buy are layered different so they do not blow nearly as easy

Welcome to the blown gasket club

Default 05 duramax blown head gasket

it really pisses me off that gm can get away with producing a product that has known design flaws and not be responsible. I have bought 6 trucks in 10 years from them but they don't care. They can take our money at purchase AND from the bailout (again our money) but won't help??? Not cool. Maybe i should just sue them in small claims court

I know they put a 7 year 200,000 mile warranty on the lb7 because of the head gaskets and injectors but I don't think they did on the llys
