Straight pipe

My buddy has an 05 and is wondering if he can run a straight pipe. I know on the new trucks they will throw codes but not sure about his.

i have an 04 lly and i am running straight pipe (no cat and no muffler) and i havent thrown any codes.

Some of them will throw a P0401 code when straightpiped.. a fingerstick or PPE Tuner can block those.. Its an easy fix it if does show the code. Some trucks do and some dont.
