If its an 04 then it doesnt have variable vanes. This truck has to be an 04.5 or 05. Before you can do anything to this truck you are going to need a Tech II, otherwise your just going to spin your wheels. If you can get your hands on a Tech II, run the truck down the road and data log it. Email me the file and I'll take a look at what the ECM is commanding for vane position and boost.


I moved this thread because it was in the wrong section. All VVT Dmax's are 04.5 and up. Pre-04.5 is the LB7 non-VVT.

Got it fixed guys! Thanks! It was the freaking EGR valve! Replaced the valve and everything started working. It listed as an 04 with an LLY in it.

I assumed you replaced that along with the maf sensor. I thought that is why we were playing the guessing game. Sounds like the codes told you what was wrong right away...

Blocking those things is going to be something that most will/should want to do to avoid problems down the road.
