If you arent going to be towing heavy loads with steep inclines I wouldnt worry too much about it. I tow quite a bit with mine and it has never overheated. I would do the LBZ mouthpiece though. Otherwise spend your money on normal mods. Just my opinion.

yeah i am going to get an 05 with the lly. but i wont be hauling anything unless it's every once in awhile and then it wont be anymore than like 5,000lbs. and there aren't really any steep grade hills where i live in tennessee unless i go to mount eagle mountain...

but do you really think it'll overheat that bad in like 16-30 seconds tops? :hummm: and thanks you've answered alot of my questions. and i've watched some of your videos. you have a badass truck :thumb up:

I'll make sure i post pictures of my truck soon. i'm goin to get it this week:
2005 GMC 2500HD Black CC, 4x4, Fully Loaded, Rhino Lining. It's gonna be sweet. I'm pumped :YEAH:

you should be fine, youdont really have to start worring about over heating when ur towing like Christopher was in the video in the first post.

A LBZ mouthpiece is a very nice mod, and really helps out alot with the flow of air into the turbo

Don't wory about the overheating. Mine never overheated and I drive in bad traffic all day in ambient temps over 100.

If you are pulling you may overheat, and if you do just pull over, let it cool down, get it home and then order TXChristophers mod.

To clarify: It was in fact Joel Paynton who wrote the article that BUCCaNOLES is referring to specifically. KB has written other articles on overheating though...

Hi Guys just joined.
Was leaving for NM Tuesday and overheated puked coolant climbing up theTehachapi mountains, now she is in the dealership again.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

I have just been told nothing wrong with the engine, and to pull the 5th wheel in evening hours when cooler.
