This only happens on the '04.5 and '05 LLY. The '06 LLY, LBZ and LMM all have corrections to them to keep them from overheating. *Some* LBZ guys can still make their trucks hotter than wanted and have added the V2 to keep their truck's temps in check.

Most will never pull a load big enough to make their's overheat, but the one's that do cry like a baby when they see those temps rise uncontrolably esspecially when they swore up and down their's did not overheat.

Well all I know is my old skool 12V will pull a 20K lb trailer all day long and the clutch fan is only on maybe 25% of the time, and it still doesn't get too hot. If I'm in stop and go traffic the fan has to run 100% of the time to keep things cool, but thats typical for towing heavy in traffic. My buddy tried to sell me on an '05 at the time, glad I never considered it.

It's funny, overheating LLYs are coming out of the woodwork right now, with a the sentence- 'I just bought this used truck and hooked it up to my trailer......it overheats'.

If you would of bought his and had a problem, the V2 will squish it. I very rarely hear my fan anymore, much less see the guage move.
