Default Looking at 2001 d-max with 215,000 miles. input?

I'm looking at a 2001 duramax crew cab 4x4 with 215,000 miles on it. It is in good shape and has just had injectors put in it. did't know how long these engines will last don't want to spend the money then blow it up. Please let me know what you think.

does it have any tuners on it? any mods? larger tires? etc. if it was run stock (and was not abused, driven in mud, etc.) and had all of its proper maintenance it should go to 500K+ miles. the rest of the truck will likely start to fall apart and nickel and dime you to death after that

Yea as long as it doesnt have a ton of high hp mods done then it will last a while. 215k wouldnt scare me at all, especially with new injectors, as long as the tranny feels smooth. How much are they asking?

As long as the truck is mostly trouble free, no leaks, and the tranny shifts ok, then i'd go for it. Try to get it 9,500 or 10,000, this way you have $ to make any repairs you mind find are needed.

2x ^^

about $10K is what i would put down for it.

save the rest for reliability mods or small repairs. i wouldn't go stacking chips or anything if you want it last another 215,000 miles. if you can test drive it pulling a load to see if it is in good shape, then that will tell you more how healthy it is.

Just did a carfax on it. Has had three owners last one has had it for 8 years. has all the dealer maintenance records since it was new. bought and maintained at the same dealer the whole time. water pump and idlers and trans cooler lines where the only thing that has been done and that was in the last 15,000 miles.

sounds like it should be a good running truck. have you had a chance to test drive it?

If you do buy the truck, change every fluid and every filter in the whole truck. Also might want to run some seafoam through it to clean the injectors out.
