Hey, would anyone know what could possibly be the problem with my 2002 chev duramax 6-speed manual shift. I used it all day, start and stop half a dozen times then stopped for a hotdog and the truck would not crank. I was able to jump the starter through the wheel well when it wouldnt start at the hotdog stand and it started right up and got me back on the road. I can still start it like that now. Everything seems to be normal when I turn the key on and try to crank it, the dash lights come on and I hear a relay click but it wont crank? I was able to start the truck without the clutch pushed in for a while before this problem but, I took it out on the highway and set the cruise control then pushed on the clutch and the cruise contol shut off which would seem to tell me that the swith on the clutch is working. Any ideas? it would be much appreciated.

 

Are you jumping the starter or the starter solenoid?

 

I was jumping the solenoid. It ended up being the clutch neutral safety switch
