efi live will re-write you ecm and basically put a "tune" in there. you can also re-write the ecm to store 5 tunes in it and you can change tunes with the turn of a dial installed and mounted where you please.

the edge monitor you can still keep and use it to monitor your boost, egts, ait, rpms, speed, and any other PID the edge can put on display for you. as an alternative to buying gauges and installing them.

with the efi live you will keep the edge n stock and let the guy who tunes your truck do all the work now. all you will need to do is do a few emails and load and tune.

There is a few guys who sell efi live on this forum. cummin_un_glued, big bad diesel 416 and two vendors i know who Sell efi live.

there's also a few members on the site who also do some of their own tuning, like myself, and britewhiteram.

That would be cool. So if i were to change the level on my edge it would be as if i had stacked chips? How much do ppl charge for tunes if i were to get the equipment to put them in myself?

yeah it would, but it wont help you since the efi tune will be build enough to already set up at the limits you ask for

actually you can use the edge CS or CTS monitor in the place of the DSP5 **** and it will actually switch the efi live tunes instead of the edge tunes you just have to change some settings in the monitor and in the efi tune, the instructions are in the edge user manual

Are you looking for more torque for pulling or for passing, because you can change a lot of parameters in EFI live to allow for more power on the low end and then return to almost stock power on the top end, and you can also keep the smoke to a minimum while doing so

I wouldn't recommend "stacking" the edge tuning with any EFI live tuning, any tuning done to your truck with EFI live will be more than the edge tuning will be able to offer to your engine

I dont feel too comfortable tuning others vehicles as of yet, Im still getting the hang of it on my own truck, maybe this winter when I have time off from work I will invest some more time trying to advance my tuning skills, I'm still working with pre-made tunes from Nick, and IMHO they are really smooth/clean and well behaved tunes, Im just learning like most, as well I dont have a lot of spare money to invest in my truck since Im still paying for it, once I have extra money I will be putting more into her

Ya mostly for pulling and passing. I just like the feel of drivin a truck that has the low end pullin power

either step up to EFI live or a PPE hot +2, you will have more than enough power then

I've never had a problem with passing power in my rig

the PPEs tunes are a little smokey for my taste but to each his own they both make plenty of power
