Default silverado ignition

Are the silverado ignition keys supposed tobe able to be removed from the ignition after the truck is started? Mine come out with the truck running

Lol give it a try with your truck. When i do it it wont let me lock the doors with the lock on the door bit i can lock it with the clicker.

I know for certain that mine wont come out.... your tumbler is probably just worn down

Have you tried starting it without the key ?

Welcome to owning a gm. I have had that happen before with several chevy/gmc trucks over the years. you need to replace the ignition key cylinder i think that's what it's called. I dont know what it cost or how to do it on a dmax but it was pretty simple on all previous generations
