i remember about reading about a fix to this that can be done with a few wire splices or a module that can be purchased to fix it, its been a long time since i been up with the dmax info.

its definitely related with the programmer

i cant remember right now for the life of me

If that's the case pull the programmer to see if it's the problem. I don't know what programmer you have, but totally remove it to be sure. Even if it's a 'piggy back' programmer like an Edge, pull it out, just setting it back to 0 won't do it sometimes.

Its a Superchips 2805... not a great programer to begin with but it saves the stock settings for when you need them set back to stock... I'm gonnna try going stock on my next trip and see if it does it again... I wish i had the cash in hand for the EFI live...

Ok... gotta dig this one back up and ask another question...

Has anyone heard of a "CP3" (or something close)??? what is it and does the 01 LB7 have it? Had an EFI tuner guy tell my cousin to have me check that... I have never heard of it, nor do i know what it does...

cp3 is your high pressure pump for your fuel rails some people might call it your injection pump, it sits in the lifter valley and pressurizes the fuel, pushes it into the rails where its distributed to the injectors at 23000psi

yes the LB7 has it, every version of the duramax has it, the new LML uses a cp4.2, which is similar to the cp3 but more complex

hmmm... It seems that i would have a problem at any speed and especially when driving it hard and more often if the cp3 was the problem... PLease correct me if i'm wrong on that...

So, with that said, i'm thinking back to the turbo overboost or tuner program issue... It's so frustrating not knowing for sure...
