Default lb7 not shifting?

Hey guys I have an 02 lb7 and when I merge or get up to speed to quickly or when I floor it my truck stays on the edge of the red line, around 3k rpm and just stays there and doesn't accelerate until I let off the gas and slow down. After that I can get on it again and it drives better. I am new to diesels so have no idea what it could be. Thanks so much for the help.

Any other thoughts anyone? It is getting hard to drive the truck because it is not shifting right, it boggs down and doesn't accelerate at around 2500 to 3k rpm and it shifts when I let off but when I don't it shifts very hard.

I would think about checking and maybe changing the transmission fluid. How many miles on it? Do you know if the external spin on filter has been changed lately?

That would be my next step if I was you. Change both internal and external transmission filters along with fluid and keep changing the external transmission filter as often as your fuel filter. I do my oil, oil filter, fuel filter, and external transmission filter ever 3000 miles.

Ok thanks for all the help I am changing all of the fluids and filters this week, because I drove the truck today, and at this point I can hardly drive it, because of how badly it is shifting.
