My mistake I thought you tried the fuel filter that must of been another thread. Yeah like micarcia said try the filter first. When was the last time it was changed.

I don't know I haven't had the truck very long so I don't know about the previous owner or when he changed it last, I will be changing every thing this week.

you should always change all fluids when you buy a truck. saves money later

it's not out of the question but i would try everything else possible before we got to that conclusion. the newer trucks with autos seem to be very finnicky. and now that i read it again i think of a 96 subaru that lost third gear. it wouldn't shift until a second after you let off the pedal

You have some issues. Since it is a high milsage truck, some preventive maintenace is in order. like you have just heard from other members, change your transmission fluid, Filters, Fuel filter, and do a ECM diagnostic with a good scan tool. If your unable to get one, the cost of hooking your truck by a reputable shop should run no more then $150.00 USD and no less then $75.00 USD depending on their type of scan tool and your area. I know of few in PA if your interested.
You can purchase some decent Scan tool software for your PC.
