i got mine for 2500 and kept the old engine.

are you sure all 8 are bad

 

I'm not sure how many r bad. I'm gonna go ahead and do all 8 glow plugs bc that's not but about 100 bucks but I would rather just only hafta replace one injector

 

how can u tell which injectors r bad? do i hafta take them somewhere and get them tested or something?

 

well a scan tool with the ability to shut off injectors would be a good start, turn em off one at a time and if you don't notice a difference when you turn one off that one is probably bad, but it's kinda a guessing game

 

Yeah balance rate tests work fairly well. I only had one failed injector and just opted to replace the one. It was way out and misfired. All the other ones were fine though, I'd only do all 8 if there were a few that were bad because of the cost involved unless all the remaining ones have a lot of miles on them too. Never know for sure when they'll go but I have a feeling harsh winters don't help.

 

can i get these tools and do it myself and if so where can i get them and how much will it cost me?

 

would yall have an idea about where i could get a scan tool with that ability or maybe a place i could go and get someone to do perform that for me?
