injector problem

Default injector problem

i have a 03 lb7 with 110,000 miles on it. truck still runs strong but smokes at idel. scowering the fourms i now know that i have an injector problem... i checked my oil today ad it smells badley like diesel fuel.. can this be good for the barings in the lower end? after i change injectors am i going to have to worry about other problems in the future due to this? any advice will help thanks again

get that to the dealer asap. the diesel fuel is not good for the bearings.

there is still a 7year/200kmile warrenty for the injectors and you should be coverd

kewll thanks ive heard from a couple people about the 200,000 mile warente but wasent posative ive got an appt. for the truck to go in this friday. do u think i should take off my edge n cold air intake?

take off the edge, they didnt give me any problems with my CAI or exhaust, but if u want to be on the safe side its only a 5 minute swap to switch back to stock

i just got my injectors replaced an they do tests on your injectors an if it passes them you get them covered for free an if they see you had a chip on it they wont replace them

Default shes all fixed!

well its been about a week but just wanted to give yu guys an update... got all 8 injectors coverd under warente. also why they were in there they found 2 fuel lines that had cracks in them that would probaley explane why i kept loseing fuel presure!!!!! so they replaced it all... thanks again for the info and elp!!!!!

i just got my 03 lb7 back from the dealer, i took it in for the same problem - smoke at idle only when at operating temp though, they told me since I only have 1, maybe 2 injectors leaking from the nozzle it is not covered by the 7/200k warranty, they say the only way they warranty them is if they are leaking from the upper part of the injector body which causes fuel to enter the oil. I might wait a month, dump some diesel into my oil and take it in again. what do you guys think? my warranty is over in june.

diesel in the oil is usually a sure thing, have you tried other dealerships?

I just replaced my injectors which were not under warranty and it was a bitch! not really just takes too much time
