Default Tire and Wheel size

I was wondering what the biggest size tire and rim I can put on my 2500HD with a stock lift. I'm looking at the 18" rockstar wheel with a 265 70 18 tire. I have a 265 70 16 right now. Also here is a pick of my truck as it sits right now. Thanks

The chevys have large wheel wells. i would say you could probably fit 33" tires but no bigger. Of course I could be wrong. Your tire and rim size your currently looking at will fit no problem. Try checking other postings on the topic in the wheel and tire sizes, I know I have seen a few. I will look and post you a link here if I find one.

alot of it has to do with the backspacing of the wheel.

the stock aluminum wheels (rpo code PYO) they are 16x6.5 with a 5.5 bs?? you can with 285/75/r16 with just some timming to some plastic on the bumper.

i had some 16x8 inch wheels with a 4.5 inch backspace. The tire stuck out alot and rubbed even with my tortion bars maxed out with 285/75/r16 tires on them. I did get them to stop rubbing but i had to take a sawzall to the fender and cut some metal off.

i just mounted some h2 wheels on the truck with 315/70/r17 and they dont rub with the truck at stock height. but i do have the fender modification to mine.

most depends on the wheel, but you can go as big as 35"

heres some pics with the 33's i used to have and the 35's i have now

ok so the wheels i'm looking at are 16x9 with a 5"backspace. The rims I'm running now are 16x8 with a 4.5" backspace. I might just take the saw to my bumper anyways since i had a blowout its all jacked up so that might work if they won't fit otherwise.

So here's a question right now i'm running a tire size 265 70 16 so if I upgrade to the 18" wheels what size tire would I need to keep the same amount of rubber? And how much is it going to throw off my speedo?

Also I read that some of you have the problem with the clunking noise in the front end when your turning is it normal for it to clunk all the time over bumps going straight down the road?

the 16x9 wheels your looking at you might get away with the 5inch bs with a 285 tire... maybe dont take my word for it.

you can still get an tire in the same height as the one you have right now that fits the 18inch rim. what is the width and backspacing on the one you are looking at, if you can ge one with a 5.5inch bs you would be good for 33inch tires.

and the clunkign noise is probably your intermediate steering shaft. needs to be replaced

if you do go with a 285 wide tire, you will have to crank up the tortion bars a few turns. fyi
