well i replaced my oil pressure sensor after it blew

anyhoo, the oil level is good, but when i first start it the oil pressure is at 75psi idle, it has never been that high. thought the oil was over full so i drained a little bit out to where its need a little bit added and i still have 75psi at idle.

it does no seem normal to me, and the pressure goes up to 80+ when i put it in gear and move it.

im out of ideas

 

i think you have a bad sender, check for loose wires and such...thats too high, your liable to blow something out

 

i was thinkin that too, i might disconnect it and clean up the contacts, the old sending unit was leaking past the weaher-proof rubber seal out though the connector.

but it reads zero psi when i leave the key in run with the truck off, so im guessing it functions correctly?

 

drained some oil and watched it again, it does drop down to 60ish psi at warm idle, but climbs right back to 80psi when it reaches 1200rpm.

it doesent have too much oil its actually a little low but somehing is fishy here

 

mine is bouncing all over after i changed my injectors. and dont understand why.

 

you can never have too much oil pressure, mine is at about 95-100 psi cold then as it warms up it will drop

 

Too much oil will not make the pressure go higher, it is a function of the pump and the bearings. A new pump will make more pressure than an old/worn pump. New bearings will show higher pressure than old/worn bearings. Cold oil will make higher pressure than hot oil. Does the pressure drop after you have driven the truck around for a while?

 

 

sounds like a bad sender to me where did u get it
