2003 Duramax Diesel WaterPump R&R
Whoever put the instructions and pictures on how to R&R the water pump on a 2003 Duramax
needs a large THANK YOU. Your instructions and pictures were an immense help. Still much more difficult then I thought. caveats: fan clutch on mine 40 mm. Could not get flywheel jammed with 1/2 extension. Had to use 3/4 iron pipe, slightly flattened to hold flywheel. Did not need a Wheaties breakfast to break Harmonic Balancer bolt. Two donuts and a cup of coffee did it. Only needed a 4' cheater. Mine came off relatively easy. Hardest bolts are at back of water pump housing. No easy way to get at them. Much more beer and time then disclosed. The pictures were such a big help because I didn't have to try to figure out what and where to go to find out what needs to come off next. Again THANK YOU.
