Fuel Flow/ Leaky Rail
#11
What products would be benificial to our duramax crowd if I could set up a Real good deal just to help our members?
I've seen lots of the race valves installed. I've never seen much change in fuel mileage, Has there been any release of information regarding the fuel mileage and how the Race valve effects the truck besides no more Low FP issues?

I cant see anyway that the race valve would increase mpg, under stock or normal driving conditions where the rail pressure is at stock (based on how people tune them) the FPRV should not pop, The rail presssure does not get high enough and neither does the Pulsewidth, the stock cp3 should have no problem keeping up with the demands
on the hot race tunes the pulse width can be almost double that of stock, so the cp3 would have to work twice as hard, and with rail pressure being 23k or more sometimes the FPRV wont let it keep up cause it popped open or the pump just cant crank out that much fuel.
as far as i know with the FPRV replaced with the rave valve it elimates one of the things that controls / limits rail pressure. with an unreliable/untunable FPRV gone the only thing that manages the fuel pressure is the cp3 pump and that can be tuned.
