Tire Size
Hi guys,
Does anyone know what the maximum height and width of tires is that I can run on a stock 4x4 2500HD? My truck is bone stock, and I hate the tiny tires that GM always puts on their 3/4 ton and larger trucks. Eventually once I get the truck lifted I'll look at some 32's, but for now I'm just wondering what the max I can get away with is on the stock 16"x6.5" rims.
Thanks

Was that on stock 6.5" wide rims?
Do you think I could I run a 31" tire without cranking up the bars?
They were on the stock rims for a while and just scrubbed the sway bar on real tight turns but didn't rub at all when they were on my MHT wheels.
You should be able to fit a 265/75R16 without cranking them. I think you can even get a 285 (about 32") under there without touching the bars.

you can get 33.5" tires on a stock LBZ.. I have my bars cranked up all the way with my 305/55/20 Nitto Terra Grapplers.. they measure out just a shade over 33.5" and only rub at full lock.. just a tad..
I'm gonna be puttin 33" nitto terra grapplers with 20" rims on my 03 2wd. I have my tortion bars cranked up so that right now it's 10" from the top of the tire to the wheel well in the front. in the back i will have no problem fitting the 33's in the front however the guys at the tire shop say i might rub a little if i'm goin down a hill and making a sharp turn. So i think you should be good to go. my truck sits higher than any stock 4wd i sit next to so just crank up the tortion bars and you should be good to go
BTW, I was informed by someone on here...
^^^ not to crank the tortion bars more than 2 inches or you will have to get your tires realigned.
