my buddy is looking at buying a 2004 LB7 duramax with 50,000 miles on it. one of our techs said to stay away from it. he wants to know if thats the case. they just replaced the injectors. is this a good engine?

I would definitely go for it with those low miles. If the injectors have just been replaced thats even better plus theres the extended injector warranty to 200,000miles. I love mine, they're supposed to be the easiest to get good mileage with. Other than injectors theres no real problems that i have heard of.

Other thatn the injector thing, they are solid engines/drivtrains. Since the injectors have already been replaced, that's a bonus.

I have 3 LB7's in my fleet, one with 210k, one with 185k and one with 170k. Other than the injectors, they've all been trouble free.

I just picked up a 2003 GMC dmax LB7 and hasnt had an injecter prob yet with 85,000miles, my unlce has a 2001 with 230,000miles and replaced injecters on his and a wheel bearing thats it, these trucks are great and the motors are awesome. He replaced his injecters with 2006 injecters i belive. If i have to replace mine thats what i think i will do put 2006 injecters in it.. But if i was him I would get the truck it sounds like a real nice one.
