No lift pump completely stock. Which now I think about it, if my cp3 was bad with that primer pump not getting hard my truck probably wouldn't run. I have absolutely no problems starting the truck it doesn't die the way I drive you can't even tell there's a problem. Until you get on it and need more than 10k rail pressure then it won't make anymore press. What pump are you referring to that your replacing?

You had starting and dying issues though right? You also have a lift pump correct? That's where this gets different I don't have a single sign of a problem till you try to push the truck. It has rail press to start, run and drive just fine. I can even get on the hi way and get up to speed and cruise at 60-70 fine, unless I try to get on it and go faster than anyone really needs to it stops pulling and rail press slowly drops from 10k to about 7-8k with just a tad bit of black smoke and I can still get 18-20 psi of boost. As I slowly lift if I try to run it hard rail press will shoot up to 15-20k for just a sec. I'm starting to lean towards injectors returning too much. I plan to do a return test on the pump and the injectors to further isolate and see if I can find the issue better before I buy anything.

Yes it was starting and stalling . Wouldn't keep prime. I just got the truck and someone put a cheap fuel pump on the frame of the truck . It's all rusted been there a long time . I got 150 miles before it went into limp mode and my troubles began .

Yeah I don't have any of that going on, no limp mode , no starting issues no dying issues. Only time I had a problem is after I changed the filter the next Morning it wouldn't start so I tried priming and found out the primer wouldnt pump up. But after I got it started I haven't had a problem since and the primer still doesn't pump up or ever get hard.

In reply to the intake heater part, I put a LED indicator on the intake heater wire and it fools the computer into thinking it's still there. Have also heard of people leaving the heater and just cutting the heating element off with a dremel.

I have my boost gauge tapped into the heater port in the intake. Just going to have to efi delete the heater...... the problem was the cp3 pump then about 3 days after I replaced the pump the injectors started smoking at idle.... so I replaced all the injectors also.... what a nightmare that was. Had to replace 3 now of the new ones that were still having high rates. All is good now.
