i take it there is no VIN number checks between the ECM and FCIM and it is just plug and play?

I dont think it matters as the FMIC only receives signals to fire injectors ( I beleive its from ECU it receives these signals - CPS, Cam PS. ect ? ) ..

I was thinking along the lines of how the BCM and radio if swapped out need to be updated with the correct vin or thay start throwing fits. Didn't know if there was any such requirements for the FCIM

The BCM should control exterior lighting and interior lighting, guages, and the such ..

the radio could possibly toss a security code causin it to go into "Stolen" mode .. maybe shutting down ignition power , But it does run, it just wont accelerate .. So ?not sure if either really could be the issue .. ?

If you swap ecms it can happen the security light will stay on and you have to do a relearn procedure iirc. Same thing if you swap out instrument clusters, radios will sometime lock up on thier own, I had one lock up on me when I tuned a guys truck then u had to find a code to punch in into the radio to get it working again.

The radio doesn't kill the truck. It just shuts itself down
