there is nothing truly beneficial using the LB7 regulator over the LLY except that the LLY one can usually be found for a little less $$$. some people use the LLY regulator because it can be tuned for more fuel for those guys looking for more HP

usually without any programming the LLY regulator in a LB7 will cause a lope in the idle and possibly a CEL if it is bad.

if you plan on having it tuned with EFI Live then go for it.

PS: i believe i have an LLY & an LB7 regulator in mine right now (duel CP3s)

Merchant Automotive is a good place, i have heard many great things about them.

for me, i have always took a gamble with eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/YJ001-2003-GMC-SIERRA-6-6-DURAMAX-TURBO-LB7-DIESEL-HIGH-PRESURE-FUEL-PUMP-/151158708512?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2331c2d920&vxp=mtr so far i have had good luck but wont recommend it for everyone.

with a stock transmission i would not do more then about 90 HP over stock. the transmission's life is cut quickly above that. some can get away with higher but most wont. 90HP is even pushing it. for a transmission "safe" tune i would go with a 50 HP tune. if you tune it with Efi Live you can have the EGR programmed out and the fueling properly remapped to provide clean HP. i agree with you, rolling coal is not cool.

not to mention waste fuel and ****-off environmentalists which in turn enforce stricter smog laws.

i bought two CP3s and three CP4s from eBay. one CP3 i have in my truck as the 2nd pump and the other as a backup. all of the CP4s where new. paid no more than $100 each and saved thousands.

not sure on the price of tuning at a shop as i do all of my own tuning
