The optical sensor is the only thing in the IP in communication with the ECM.

The fuel solenoid is as well but does it through the PMD/FSD.

If you have a 94-96,you might want to try removing the OS electronic noise filter and observe the results-they can cause grief when they are bad.

Trouble codes go a long way to diagnose things also-see if you have any?

My truck is a 94 . Been dealing with this problem for a few months now. I'm an engineer on a riverboat and won't be home till the 19th to try these things. The problem is also causing the lock up converter to release as soon as i ease up on the peddle. Last time i worked on it the only code was 35 , best i remember. Sure appreciate th help and will let everyone know the outcome when i get back home . Thanks again

With a 94 you can remove the OS noise filter but you will need 3 pieces of ferrite core from radio shack or other electronics store to put around each OS harness wire.

Default 6.5 Jerking while driving

I have a 97 K2500 6.5 with a new IP, the truck starts to jerk back and forth when I am trying to maintain a constant speed at higher rpms. Just curious if you guys have any idea what it could be, I have no lights on, other than ABS. Otherwise it runs fine, accelerates fine. The only way to get it to stop is to completely let on or off the throttle momentarily.
