Default 1/2 Ton And 3/4 Ton Engine Differences?

Are there any differences between the 1/2 ton 6.5 diesels and the 3/4 and 1 ton diesels? I seem to remember reading something about it a while back but I can't remember for sure.

I think the half tons had EGR, my suburban did, but my 85 1 ton does not.

3/4 ton has less emissions. probably a little more power than 1/2 ton. maybe 3/4 ton gets better MPG

The 6.5l had 3 RPO codes. The L49, which was naturally aspirated and installed in vans mostly, the L56, which was turboed and around 165hp installed in half and light duty 3/4 tons, and the L65 which had 195hp, turboed, and installed in heavy 3/4 and 1 tons and these did not have egr. Diesels were offered in the half tons from 79 or 80 slear up to 95 or96. They started with the Olds 5.7l diesel til 82, then installed the 6.2 til 93 and then offered the L56 6.5Lturbo motor til 95 or 96.

Reading an OLD post you replied to about the HP difference in the L56 or L65 blocks, how do I tell which block is in my Burb?
