1997 K2500 runs itself out of fuel
going to buy 97 k2500 off a friend of mine. he says it runs itself out of fuel. he has to re prime it, then it will run and start 4 or 5 times, and it wont start back up again until you do the same
he has already changed:
fuel shut off solenoid
fuel relay
oil pressure sensor
fuel lines
he didnt change the fuel pump..
anyone else think it could be this? any input would be great!

check fuel relay also in fuse box under then hood
Also the fuel inlet fitting on top of the is a screen check it make it clean
Some more pics for you here is the filter screen for the IP threaded into the IP body. I was helping another member out offline and shot these after we discussed possiblity of it being clogged, his truck is reacting like it has poor fuel supply. All other basic flow checks are satisfactory.
One of the things that got me to thinking about it is member did not know the plastic last ditch screen in bottom of fuel filter bowl was missing, I'll have to look and see if I can find pics of that. They sometimes get stuck in center of the old filter element and get tossed away, but it is supposed to be in the bottom of the filter bowl of the on engine mounted filter, make sure you don't throw yours away.

Sucking air somewhere, Tank sock clogged, lift pump going south, screen in filter manager clogged, fuel filter clogged or nearly clogged.
Check to see if the fuel tank looks collapsed or "sucked in" at all. If yes, bad fuel cap vent may be the issue. These maintain a vacuum on the tank, but if cap fails it can become excessive and collapse the tank. No air in = no fuel out. Sounds freaky, but I've personally seen it happen. Crumpled in on all 6 sides.
That's about all I can think of off the top of my head....
