replacing pmd
#2
i usually do relocate kits, very quick and easy. leave old one on pump just unplug the harness and plug it into the new one, you have to relocate the ground wire on top of pump to get it to reach but it will. Last two I did had a updated style connector on the new pmd and came with a new pump harness that you have to swap out so you have to go and pull intake and all that. still very simple process. The resistor in the old pmd needs to be removed and reinstalled into the new exactly how it was in the old one. Its a little peice that slides onto two pins inside the pmd connector opening, comes right out with a pick. I no longer swap these resistors because as far as im concerned they do nothing so I leave it in the old pmd. Ive run the trucks with and without them, cant tell a diff. Im sure some ppl dont agree with me on that but, get a relocate kit plug it up and go

i have a fsd cooler already but its the original pmd from the truck or from the second used ip thats in it. truck started to bump up idle about a year ago and does it randomly about twice a week just for a little burp. but 2 days ago it shut off on me while driving so I'm guessing its starting to go.

323,000 km. not sure why it wouldn't be, no other issues just the fact it shut off once and for the last year or so randomly would do a little burp and the rpm would jump 50-100 usually at idle in drive or park. truck is parked now since i just bought a 2004 corolla. could test lift pump as its probably original.
