6.5 HAS THE FLU
Thanks a lot guys for helping me figure it out, I am going to go ahead and order a new pump, and a few other goodies and once replaced I will let you guys know what it does. Thanks again.
I am also throwing a po251 but I will check the first code again. The po251 came up earlier while driving and then suddenly died with no warning. I checked it instantly and got that code which has something to do with the ip. Any ideas on what to check?

I have cleared all codes but the po251 returns once it dies. Is there any way to check the ip or is it most likely shot?

Did you resolve the problem ? If not, it sounds like the prob mine had @ 165k. Started with Crank position sensor. Replaced. Started throwing IP code, and CPS code + another code I can't rember. Sounded like a cummins and reved on it's own. Tracked it down to a shorted wiring harness @ the back of the valley. A small smurf tube had worn through on a metal bracket and wires were showing copper. I've put 13K since finding it with no prob's. I can send pic's. gewehre@aol.com.
Problems occurred at random. Started out mostly when driving and warm and got progressively worse until it was nonstop. Didn't know whether it was an ECM problem or a connector problem or a wiring harness problem. Decided to go the cheap route with no tools required, it's called the wiggle test. This is where you start at the firewall and wiggle the wiring harness just slightly until the problem goes away, then backup until the problem occurs again. This has got me within a 1/2" of the problem. The trick is not to move the wiring harness so much as to disturb other parts of the wiring harness. Don't know what I can tell you other than a contact number. Hope this helps.
