How do I get more psi out of the 1993 6.5?

Default How do I get more psi out of the 1993 6.5?

I was just wondering if when i turn up my pump will it give me more boost or is there something else that i can do to acheive more boost. This is my first diesel truck so all the help i could get would be great.

yeah it will plus you need to get a mechanical wastegate like the turbomaster or make one yourself for more control

Heath diesel makes a nice one but I made mine for about $20. The Heath is $150 or so. Crazy has a link to someone that made one and I followed it and it surely works. I have a 53 lb spring on mine and get 12 psi boost WOT/ 14 psi peaks at once in a while. I will get the link and shoot it over to ya.

the only thing did was go with the #68 spring the # 49 was to weak it just Ace hard ware # in hardware draw #er spring was like 3 3/4 long x 1 "

Your 93 will already have a mechanical waste gate. All you have to do is shorten the rod between the waste gate arm and the spring. If you really want do it right you can get a turnbuckle nut. Cut the rod in half and remove a small section of it. Then thread each shorter piece you have one left hand and one right then you can adjust it till you get the right psi.
