If you going turbo it think you going have to go with 6.5 heads and injectors cause injectors mount diff from 6.2 sure someone charm in on it

I take it got the 700R4 trans don't know how that hold up for what you want to i would think about the 4L80e trans

just put 6.5l exhaust manifolds mont the turbo, and add the 6.5l intake. after running the oil line from the back of your 6.2 oil senser and drilling a hole near the top of oil pan for retrun. your done as long as you don't have A/C turbo won,t clear a/c box!

1982 would most likely be a th400. As far as I take it and how it looks to me you could just put the manifold of a 6.5 turbo on a 6.2 but would not be able to remove the injectors without removing the manifold. The easiest thing to do if you are that worried about it would be to find a exhaust manifold and see it will fit. If the engine is original it will have coarse thread and all 6.2's and 6.5's after 82 have fine thread. At worst you could make a spacer to go between the head and manifold.

If all you wanna to do is have a wood getter, a turbo might not be needed. Adding a turbo isn't super hard though. Just got to find an engine to steal parts off of.
