I tightened the screws on the PMD about 2 weeks ago. They were less than a quarter turn loose. I have the goo heat paste, not the newer type pad. If someone was willing to loan me a working PMD I will be willing to pay $10.00 for the loan and will pay shipping each way. I'm going to try another heat/cold related test tomorrow morning (21* expected) and I'll get back to you after that. Thanks.

OK, here's the latest on my problem of engine stalling while idling in cold weather. A total of 20 tests showed that on 8 cold mornings the engine would start easily but quit after idling for 30 seconds to 2 minutes. I could restart it but it would quit again and again. I used the block/coolant heater several times for 4 hours before starting but that didn't help. I applied heat to the fuel cut-off solonoid hours before starting but that didn't help.

I applied heat to the PMD using a 60 watt lightbulb a total of 12 times on VERY cold mornings. The engine started normally, idled and NEVER ONCE quit while idling.

The only other components I can think of that could be causing the problem on cold mornings are 1-an unknown problem with the ECM or 2-a defective PMD resistor (the replacable one). If anyone has another possible solution I would like to hear it. If not, I'm going to conclude that the PMD is causing the problem in cold weather even though everyone believes that the PMD only has problems with hot temperatures. And, thanks to everyone who contributed with suggestions.
