I have an 85 K10. When I turn the key nothing happens. I still have power to all the non-ignition controlled things like the lights.

My first guess is the ignition is broken.

Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot before I start spending money and taking things apart?

Any information would be appreciated.

dont know of any way to check it, but i had to replace one on a half ton a couple months ago. it would power everything but not crack the truck. i know this aint much help, but thats all i got. good luck

 

one way testing it with a test light go to starter and at the small stud put test light on it and have someone turn the key and see if light up also check all fuses sure did that
