I see your point now about the egts. I have looked at Make Your Own Mechanical Wastegate Controller
but I cant find the springs anywhere. is there another way to do this? I dont want to shell out 140 bucks for the vac pump when it will only cost like 30 bucks total to remove it.
Im not gonna lie, i am new to the diesel thing, but I must say, I love my 94. even though it has its electrical probs. We paid 6 bills for it cause the stealership told the guy it needed another injector pump after it already supposabley had 3 put in over a year and a half span. I replaced the optical sensor and it fixed the truck.

what about a carb throttle return spring from and old quadrajet carb. they were really easy to pull.

Also, wont the computer see there is no vacuum on the solenoid for the wastegate? I not have a ses light now, and surely i dont want one.

I cant catch a break can i . The sad part is I am a mechanic. . I cant seem to find those springs anywhere. the jhook battery bolts are not a prob, the tap and die, no prob, wing nut washer and rubber no prob. The springs are my only hold back.

Hey Crazy is there anything special to getting the belt off or it is just like all the rest, put a wrench on the tension pully and move it so you can get it off? Hey TxZX6R if you can't find any springs, once I get mine set up I might have some extras and I can mail them to you if you aren't in any hurry
