96 Chevy 6.5 F Vin Starter - issues, best one?
Happy holidays all. 1996 Chevy K2500 6.5T Fvin 109k runs well. When starting it cranks ok but then makes a Ziiiinggggg noise for 1-2 secs after I disengage starter - like if gears are still clacking. Could be solenoid? Plunger? Else, what is a good part number/brand/supplier for a compatible starter (replacement or OEM)? Any exp with SSDiesel's starters? And: Starters for F and S vin engines: are they the same? Heard different things...
Grateful for any feedback; this is a great resources. Have had my truck 5 years, driven from Anchorage to seattle to montana to seattle to denver to seattle to Boston (any many points in between) no problems, never put a penny into it (other than filters and oil of course). Now time for a little TLC and PM for the next 15 years. Thanks!

there is no diff in between F or S
ya it may just be solenoid i would just just swap out the hole starter a solenoid cost almost the same as starter does
i been running autozone start now for 4 yrs with out a problem
i have gotting stuff from SSD i have good and bad with them my last thing i gotting from them was injectors never again and had hard time for them back them up so for me i will not buy anything off them again
