Beer just out of the shop

Short version of a long story I broke a rocker stud lost 2 push rods, they ended up in the pan with no damage to the internal parts [ crank ect] ran great till then. After a long costly shop visit I know the head on that side is good and all rockers studs, pushrods and four lifters were replaced timing was set to specs, but after a long set the truck starts great for 5 or so seconds then runs out of fuel or over fuels not sure but has difficulty running four three or four minutes and smokes bad, then clears up and runs like a champ. My tech says its problem is the Ipump I don’t buy this it runs to good after this and as long as it don’t set 3-4 hours or more it’s great. Any impute

at first start at cold you should be about 800 to 950 rpm if not getting that try unpluging the ECT at T-stat housing buy unpluging that it bring rpm's up even after engine warm you can up plug it still rise the rpm's maybe it not working that be test for it

also are you getting any codes
