Default 82 chevy with 6.2

i have an 82 chevy with a 6.2 diesel. I went to replace the started and the bolt holes were drilled out by the previous owner. any suggestions on what to do with it? I don't know if i should leave it or not.

will the bolts fit the new starter if not i would guess the last owner had some problems with old starter and went to bigger size bolt and you may have drill new stater to fix. I know these starter have given some problems with bolts breaking and stripping out if you don't have front bracket and also when putting new starter in replaces the bolts and torque bolts to 40 ft. lbs.

Let us know how make out

another problem I came across was when i tried putting the starter back on with the bigger bolts they wouldn't thread. I wasn't sure what the best thing to do was.

i had the cone from the old starter put on the new starter. its the right one the bolts fit the starter fine but wont thread into the flywheel housing at all. the holes arent stripped out and its the same bolts i took out from the old starter. so im thinking the flywheel housing is messed up but i didnt want to retap the holes and mess it up worse.
