yes they will thread with out the starter but not with it.

then i don't know why it won't with starter the or less like i said bent bolts or wrong starter. measures cross bolt holes on both starter make sure same size

yea ill have to take a look at it when i get home from africa. how much of a pain would it be to change the flywheel housing out and get a starter with standard size holes?

ok iam new here so bear with me also are u sure that maybe the bolts arent long enough, or possibly just worn and/or corroted??

theres nothing wrong with the bolts as far as i know. but it has been awhile since i've done any work on the truck, i'm currently deployed in africa and haven't worked on the truck in over a year.
