Default P0401 code because of straight pipe??

So i got my truck straight piped about 2 weeks ago, its three into four. After a week the engine light came on with the P0401 code (i have a reader) egr flow insufficient. i have turned it off and it keeps coming back.

if anyone knows how to fix this with out putting a muffler on that would be a great help. maybe egr delete or a 3500 intake??

its not because of a straight pipe. i got bascially a strait pipe on mine because the muffler i have is just a piece of pipe with small louvers in it and it didnt code. theres no sensors in the exhaust either. if you want a egr delete you got to replace your ecm with one out of a heavyduty 6.5 truck that is similar to yours. same year, auto, 4x4. or you can just get a reflashed and ask for a egr delete which is what i did.

If you would like to remove the EGR system from your truck you must either block off EGR ports in intake or get a vin "F" intake and install. Then you must get computer reprogrammed to erase the EGR system from computer (Heath Diesel or Kennedy Diesel reflashes ), or you may receive codes and trigger the CEL.

ya switching to a f intake would be my first choice but the reflash price probably isnt cheap.
