get a scat crank, 6.5 heads, 6.5 gaskets, and arp headstuds and you will have a good solid platfrom for a powerful 6.5

I found this engine through the wanted section of craigslist. Put up an ad and got responses almost instantly. Came home today and had an email from a guy that has an almost new 6.5 turbo in a truck that he bought in a bankrupcy auction. I guess he wants the truck because it is a service body, but has no desire to keep the 6.5 turbo. How he knows it is new I have no idea. Older man, but I am going to try and put eyes on it tomorrow. He is asking $400 and I pull the engine. The other engine I am looking at is only a 6.2 but comes with a whole suburban that I can part out of whatever.

Will 6.5 heads and crank fit a 6.2? What about a girdle for the bottom end? Worth putting on for strength or not needed?

yes they will. the girdle that dsg sells is a waste of money. the girdle that would help you is the one that is on the new p400s but no one sells any like that so it would be custom. like i said before unless your going for more than 300hp the scat crank is good.

Brought home an 86 suburban for only $375 and it is in great shape. Pretty much everything works. Actually going to use it as my DD until I get my powerstroke fixed. (Speedo signal keeps cutting out) What are some things I should do to this beast right away? It appears to be completely stock and hasn't been driven 10 miles in the last 5 years. Fluids are getting changed tomorrow.
