Default spare engine.

I was getting a bumper for my truck today an i found a suburban with a 6.5turbo 1995....had 328,000 miles an smokes....the guy said it ran just smoked reallybad.....he said i could pick it up for 300.......is this a good rebuild at least or should i just forget about it......my truck is a 96 an the pullys is the oly thing i see differant on the engine...Are they basically the same engine? an is that a good price for a rebuildable engine.

It wouldn't be a bad rebuild. $300 is probably about what is worth. The difference is that you probably have the better colling system.

The newer one has a bigger water pump and two thermostats.
