Default What is causing this?

Hi all, I just bought an 88 jimmy with a 6.2. When I went to change the air filter, I noticed quite a bit of oil, and oily gunk in the air cleaner. It's also down inside the intake. Is this normal? I wouldn't think it is, so do I just have a bad part, or is this a sign of something more sinister?

Its normal just the egr dirtying things up. If it was me I would find a non egr manifold and do away with the egr all together.

You could probably find one on ebay or the bone yard. You are just looking for a J manifold and a 6.5 f manifold will fit but you have to make a way for the air filter to bolt on.
