2wd should be as easy as a diesel torque converter and govenor. If it's a 4wd then you have some support hardware to worry about. If the 6.2 is out of a 4wd then there will be plates at the motor mounts with holes. These holes (I'll find some pics) are where you mount support rods (6.2/700r4 specific) that connect down to the torque converter cover (also specific) for strength. Believe me, this stuff is crucial! I've broken three, count 'em, three transmissions in less than a month without this stuff up there. The parts aren't the least easy to find, but they're close. I have links and part numbers if you need them.

I am curious...what govenor are you referring to? I swapped the transmission (700r4) from a 85 4wd blazer w/ a 305 gasser to a 82 4wd blazer w/ a 6.2 and only changed out the torque converter. It runs fine, but now I am wondering if I missed something.

There is a governor in the trans that helps determine shift points. If it shifts at a good rpm and doesn't bog or over rev then its fine.

13mpg with my 350. 25 mpg with my 6.2 I have to say I like the 6.2 better.

Cummins swap! You need to go repent for your sins.
