Default 4l80,NO reverse!
A buddy of mine got a 99 gmc with the 4l80 trans,and it has no reverse. All the forwerd gears work fine . any ideas in what this might be?

More than likely the reverse band came off the anchor pins.... They are notorious for pushing out of the case( they actually just back out of the case a short distance) real common...

he got the trans out and the bands are good,clutchs are all good as well,rear support carrier is good,oil is like new no filing. could it be a soliond?
