Default Calibrating the fuel pump????

I was looking on ebay and i found a performance resistor for my 1994 6.5. It says that the resistor range from 1 to 9, This calibrates the amount of fuel that the injectors send. It says that the resister plugs inbetween the harness and the PMD.
Is this a good upgrade, or is this just another scan? I want more fuel and more power but i don't want to have to spend $300 on a chip. Can you help me with this or does anyone know any info about this at all?

its true it does plug in between the harness and pmd. stock is #5 and you need it or it will throw codes. it is also true that it increases fuel but nothing you will feel. its a very very very small amout of fuel that is injected. sorry but the only cheap way to get more power is a chip.

you can wire a boost fooler into the truck but it wont add much power since your not adding any fuel just boost

Changing from a #5 to a #9 is a waste of time unless you have the pmd out and a #9 in your hands. I went from a 5to a 9 just because the pmd I had had one in it and I couldn't tell the difference.
