Default 6.2 injection pump on a 6.5????

hey guys i'm new here and have a question. i have a 92 6.5 td and my injection pump is going out. being that my pump is the mechanical db2 i was wondering if i could use a 6.2 pump. i've researched everywhere and can't find a good answer. from looking online i see that there are different part numbers for them but what is the difference. i realize that the 6.5td will need more fuel then a 6.2 n/a but can't i just turn up the pump? the reason i am asking this is that i can get 6.2 pump for CHEAP, but 6.5 pumps are more.. thanks guys

I have seen it done, as long as your not after killer power out of it it will work, the db2's for 6.2's had different delivery valves IIRC

The pump will work on a 6.5. You will need to change the fittings for the injector lines on the 6.2 pump to the one off the 6.5 and turn the pump up. It will bolt on.
