Default 6.2 help

Hey I just bought my first truck, a 81 c35 chevy which has a 6.2 diesel crate motor in it. I'm going to put a 4 speed sm465 trans behind it out of a c20 with a 350 gas in it.What I need to know is if the 6.2 is internally balance or not, or if I need a different flywheel?

You mean an 82. They are internally balanced, and yes, you will need a different flywheel.

6.2s started in 82 not 81. the 5.7 liter diesel was avialble in 81 but in only in 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive trucks. probably had a 454 first.

sry the truck could be a 82 but i was told that it was either an 81 or 82 so it must of been a 82. but now i need to know if a sm465 transmission will fit with a np208 transfer case.

it is a transfer case off of a 1982 4x4 k35 but the transmission is out of a 1986 2wd k20.
