Default 6.5 help

hello i am new to the website and just had a couple of hopefully simple and painless questions. i recently bought a 1993 c2500 with of course a 6.5 td it is a manual transmission. in the past i did work for a company in which we had three different 6.5s a 93 like mine which i never drove a 94 that i always drove and a 94 daully that i drove on occasion. the 93 i bought seems to be a pooch compared to the 94 i had before. upon talking to the guy who i worked for he told me that is just the way it is between those two years and i was wondering if that is correct. he also said main reason is because the 94 went to a pmd set up and the 93s did not have them is this true. thank you for your time.

you can turn the fuel screw up on the injection pump to get more power

heres some info. https://www.dieselbombers.com/6-2l-6...ctor-pump.html

you have to realize that the injection pump on your truck is a DB2. its a two plunger design with flows slighty more fuel than the old 6.2 pumps.

the 94 and my truck have a DS4 injection pump. it has 4 plungers and has the potentional to flow a lot more. probably why you feel less power

ok so i replaced the fuel filter and the "lift pump" meaning the pump on the frame rail however i dont belive it works either. whats the best way to figure out if it is working im real close to just putting it on a switch.

hook up 12 volts to it and see if it starts buzzing. if it does check the relays and fuses because it should start buzzing when you turn the key
