6.2L and 6.5L are kinda like a specialty of mine. I worked on them for 7 years while in the corps. If someone has a question on them Just go ahead ask me and I will answer them.

I have manuals at home for these engines.

I have done complete rebuilds, head replacements, injection pumps, injector replacements, engine replacements. Tranny replacements, transfercase replacements. Pretty much anything and everything on these engines I have done.

AutoMerged DoublePost

Also I will not give any of the secrets out on how to make more hp with these trucks. Reason being is if you don't really know what your doing when you make adjustments to the injection pump you can cause severe damage to the pump and the engine.

It is possible to make the 6.2L and 6.5L to smoke like crazy though. I mean blacksmoke. If the cummins guys think they can get there truck to smoke. I can make it look like a black storm cloud is rolling down the road.

Would love to get my hands on a service manual for my 1984 Motorhome.... droolin.... droolin everywhere

Hey.... Mine is in my signature
It's a 6.2, hauling a hefty load @ 11,800 GVWR & has on occasion towed my brothers race car through the mountains.
Does have a few probs popping it's ugly head, but these were handed down from previous owner neglect.
I figure, If I get it back up to par & take care of it, It'll take care of me

Like my Daddy used to say:
Don't Force it! .... Get a bigger hammer!

Hi their Bigcountry, ive recently purchased a 89 chev 3500 dually, with i presume non origanal 6.5T fitted, We ran it a little low in fuel due to some gauge issues, before this happend it was running sweet, smooth and heaps of power, we replace the filter and blead the system as per another post on here, with the bleed screw on top of the fuel manager and sending power to the fuel pump, but are still having fuel issues i think???
feels like its running out of fuel, and eratic more at higer speeds 45 ish mph???
help.....

Bleed the fuel lines to the injectors.

What you do is while cranking the engine loosen the fuel line at the injector. Do this one at a time. As you do this your engine should start to smooth out and run better.
