I love my 6.2's and 6.5's ,I have run them for years ,broke cranks ,rebuilt them, you name it, also drove a 6.5 turbo pickup to the canadian border pulling a big u-haul trailer up and down the mountains no problem except a broke starter bolt, i held the starter in place while she cranked it and did not switch it off for 41 hours

Your oil pressure with a 6.2L at idle cold or hot is going to be around 20 psi. Most likely it is just the typical gm oil pressure gauge problem. I suggest you install your own aftermarket gauge if you are running the standard gm gauge. As the gm gauges tend to be off by a few psi.

Isnt this the 6.5L thread? Cause it sounds more like the 6.5 bashing! Theres only one other 6.5 owner here. Just because you cant get crazy HP from 6.5 doesnt mean there junk!!! Every DIESEL has its weakness! Just to list a few:
PS: 6.0 puking antifreeze!, 6.4 Flame sprayer and a built 6.5 will hand a 7.3 its ****!!
Dmax: Great engines but even the mighty Dmax has a weakness. bad injectors and LLY overheating!
Cummins: 12v watch out for that alignment stud! It backs out kiss go bye!! 24v block issues unless its a 2002 block!
If it wasnt for the 6.5 you guys wouldnt be where Diesel is today!!

I try not to bash any engine. But I do it on occassion. How ever after working on the 6.2 and 6.5. I can say from first hand experince that maybe back in the day they were a great engine. How ever they are outdated now. Just like my 2002 7.3L is out dated. Heck the computer I am on right now is outdated. But it still works. Why fix something if it ain't broken. If you have a good strong running 6.2 or 6.5 I say great job on keeping it running.
