Default help please!

ok let me start from the beging, I had a problem with my 95 c-2500 where it would prime and start but wouldn't stay running. i asked around and it turned out to be the oil pressure switch. replaced it and it ran great but was leaking fuel from the gasket on the bottom part of the fuel filter canister. i replaced that. i drove the truck around the block a few times and every time i started it up to move it evary thing was fine. BUT NOW, i went to start the truck last week and it just kept turning over and didn't try to run. i tried re-primming it and nothing. i tried messing with it again today and re-primmed(from the fuel filter canister cap) it and i checked to see if fuel was coming out of that brass bleader with the key on too(it was). went to try and start it again and it still wouldn't run only this time i noticed when i turned on the key the second time i tried starting it fuel gauge went from empty to all the way past full. I don't know much about diesels so i have no idea where to start. anyone got any ideas?

COuld be multiple things, you say you are getting fuel to your filter canister. Did you replace the filter when you replaced the gasket? Was the stream of fuel that came out of the water drain on the t-stat housing good? No air bubbles? You need to see if the injection pump is pumping the fuel that the lift pump is sending to it. To do this you have to crack loose an injector and turn the engine over to see if fuel is getting to the injector. Those procedures will tell you if your getting fuel, and eliminate one aspect. The other is glow plugs. These need gp's to start, does your wait to start light work? You need to make sure your gp controller is working, then you need to make sure you gp's themselves are working. You can do that with an ohm meter. What kind of oil pressure switch did you buy?? The cheap ones for some reason do not last long. YOu need to get a good brand like a/c delco....

Highlander also has another point. Where is your pmd located? How old is it? I will have to search on the info, but it should be a certain ohm per gp when they are on....

make sure you check your relays and fuses to i had that same problem with mine if they are good then check your voltage going into your pmd module. also check the solenoid on the injection pump u should be able to do the without pulling your intakes.

sounds like i just need to pick up a service manual! idk where the PMD is or how old it is. sorry i'm use to motorcycles and atv's. there a whole different animal. the thing one thing that stuck out as really odd to me was the fuel gauge going from E to past F. it made me think it might something electrical, like a computer or something.

p.s. just googled the PMD and checked mine. idk how old it is but its in the stock location(which looks like it would be a pain in the *** to get off)
